The National Monuments Service's description
Templeen Church (An Teampaillín, the little church) (site of), graveyard (KE017-018001-). This church originally lay in the NW corner of the graveyard and it was also known as Teampall Ghort an Chlocháin. Although it was quarried to make way for a barn, slight traces of the foundations can still be traced. About 9m S of the N field fence, a rough line of the church foundations can be seen; it measures 21m long, .5-1 m wide and up to .5m high. Sections of the foundations run 1m N at the W end and 5m at the E end; 8.4m from the W end there would appear to be a partitioning wall that runs N for 4m.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 956. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
