The National Monuments Service's description

According to the Kerry Field Notes (1945, 642-43), there was a great mound with a rock protruding from the N side. They opened up the mound on the N side and found a walled up passage. Following this was a circular walled-up site c 2 feet high. From it a passage led NW c 2 feet from the entrance. Some bones were found, which may have been animal bones.

The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 1117. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
