The National Monuments Service's description
Caher/Cathair (stone fort). This univallate circular enclosure is clearly marked on the 1842 OS map, and lies immediately W of a disused burial ground (KE014-051002-). Only a tiny section at the W sector is marked on the later edition of 1916. Permission to inspect or survey this site was refused.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 815. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
