The National Monuments Service's description
Possible promontory fort described in 2002 as follows; ‘A 200m long north-facing headland 90m wide at the neck narrows to 45m at the northern point. Some 90m from the northern extremity are the possible remains of a stone and earthen bank and external fosse running half way across the headland. A lesser bank runs parallel to this 11m further inland. These may be the remains of artificial defences but not enough remains to ascertain their true nature. A series of six parallel wide banks and intervening ditches run across the remainder of the headland on the landward side. It is unclear whether or not these area natural features or a complex of levelled defences. The sea is accessible with difficulty from within and the area is one of coarse grazing with the thin soil cover rapidly eroding’ (Casey 2002, 72, no. FF).
