The National Monuments Service's description
According to O'Donovan (OSNB, 1841), this 'Castle Inch' originally lay in the SE of the parish of Knockanure, and it appears on Smith's engraved map of 1756. No trace of it survived in 1841 and it could not be located today.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 1005. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
