The National Monuments Service's description

Internal diameter 29m N-S, 24m E-W
Liscoolimrick/Lios Cúil Imrisc (ringfort of (the) nook of (the) contention). This bivallate rath consists of a sub-circular inner area enclosed by a well-defined earthen bank, exterior fosse and outer bank. The enclosing inner bank rises to 1.7m above the interior and 4.4m above the intervening fosse. The fosse is evident for most of the site except to the W to NW where a fieldbank and drain cut through this feature. Elsewhere the fosse is well- defined, steep, wide and U shaped and this can especially be seen to the S through E to N. It measures c2.4m-4.4m in width. The outer earthen bank encloses most of the site, except to the ENE to SE and NW to SW, where it has been levelled by the erection of a fieldbank and drain. The bank is well- defined and averages c 6m in width at the base; it rises to a maximum of 2.6m above the fosse and 1.2m above the surrounding land. The interior is at a higher level than the surrounding land, and in the SE sector of the inner bank a 4m wide gap exists, though there is no corresponding gap in the outer bank.

The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 424. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
