The National Monuments Service's description

Lismoyle/Lios Maol (flat ringfort; KE009-048----) is situated immediately SE of a univallate cahir (KE009-047----), this univallate ringfort consists of a circular area enclosed by a bank and exterior fosse.

The interior, which is at a higher level than the surrounding land, contains possible house and hut sites. Extending out of the interior of the W bank is a curved raised area of .5m; projecting from the rise are the stone foundations of a roughly square site (KE009-048001-), 8.6m x 8m with walls c 1.4m in thickness. Out of the NE corner comes a stone wall which runs N into the bank. The stone wall is slightly curved and touches the interior of the N sector. It measures c 12m long and c 1m thick. In the S and SW sectors there are two small semi-circular mounds curved into the bank, both measuring cl.8m x 1.5m; these features possibly suggest hut sites. The entrance lies to the SE and is c 4m wide.

The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 337. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
