The National Monuments Service's description
Glanalappa Castle (site of). According to John O'Donovan (OSL, 1841), a small fragment of the wall of the castle remained at that time. It was 'Seven feet thick and well grouted, and it would appear from several heaps of rubbish that the building was one of considerable extent. It was surrounded by a ditch or trench (KE007-001002-), which is now nearly filled up.' No visible trace of this castle survives.
