The National Monuments Service's description

KE005-025001- is situated on rising land and has a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. It appears on the 1841-42 OS map as a circular area (KE005-025002-) which is marked 'Burial Ground for Children'. However, today it appears as an irregularly shaped enclosure which slopes greatly to the E and S, thus making the interior much lower than the surrounding land. This burial ground measures 40.65m N-S, 21m E-W internally and 45m N-S, 39m E-W externally. A mound measuring 4m x 4m internally can be found in the NW sector of the interior. A possible entrance lies to the E and measures 4m in width.

The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 848. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
