The National Monuments Service's description
Indicated on the OS 1st ed. 6-inch map as a circular enclosure defined by hachures it was not marked on subsequent editions. This possible ringfort lay immediately N of 'Ballyeagh House' which is represented on the OS 6-inch map. This monument was levelled around the turn of the 20th century and no surface trace remains today. Archaeological investigations were undertaken in this area in 1991 (under license 91E0029): nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 210. In this instance the entry has been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
