N of this site lies the Crescent Fort (KE004-011----), while to the S another promontory fort and Pookeenee Castle can be seen (KE004-019001-) and (KE004-019002-).
This site is situated on a headland just above the sea stacks and arches at Carrignaweelaun Bay. Only a tiny section of this promontory survives today; the interior has suffered massive erosion and destruction by the sea. Originally it would appear to have been defended by a double bank and fosse. The outer bank measures 11m long, but has been very much defaced by later field fences. The bank measures 3m above the fosse; the fosse measures 2.5m wide and 15m long. The inner bank rises to a maximum of 2m over the fosse. This site is known as Stack's promontory fort.
