The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diameter 33m N-S, 34m E-W
This circular univallate rath consists of an enclosing bank and external fosse. The site has been cut slightly to the N by a fieldbank running in an E-W direction. The enclosing bank is a maximum of 2m high externally, 1.4m high internally and 6m wide at the base. The fosse is flat bottomed and well defined for most of the site and measures on average 3m in width and .6m below the height of the surrounding land. A 3m wide gap to the N and a 2m wide gap to the SSE provide access to the interior. The interior is at a slightly higher level than the surrounding land.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 121. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
