Depicted as a circular grove of trees on first edition of the OS 6-inch map. Indicated as a grove of trees or as a tree ring of post 1700 date on subsequent editions of the OS 6-inch maps. Belan Lodge located 580m to NE. Of doubtful antiquity, appears to have been a tree ring or landscape feature of post-1700 date. No surface remains visible of levelled earthwork. Visible as a cropmark on OSI aerial photographs.
