The National Monuments Service's description

On a slight rise in undulating pasture. Human bones were unearthed at various times during the extraction of sand from a pit here, most recently in 1992. The burials, adult inhumations, are regarded locally as being the remains of people hanged in 1798 and may relate to the townland name (SMR File). The burial noted on the E edge of the pit (KD035-045002-) comprised a partial skeleton together with lumps of lime which may have been deposited to speed up decomposition. This area has since been grassed over. A second burial (KD035-045001-) was noted c. 70m away on the W side of the pit. The pit is not in use but deposits of fine sand are visible to the N.
