The National Monuments Service's description
One of seven ogham stones (KD032-044001- to KD032-044007-) recorded by Macalister (1945, 24-5 (20 – No. II)) at 'Killeen Cormac' burial ground (KD032-044----). It consists of a fragment of a stone that had, apparently, been broken up and re-used in the construction of the burial ground’s enclosing wall. He recorded the inscription: MAQI-DDEC[CEDA] MAQI MARIN. The stone is now in the National Museum of Ireland (DU018-360----).
This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, where the inscription is translated: 'of Mac-Deichet son of Marinus'. To access details, including a description with 3D imagery, commentary on the inscription, and references, please go to the following website: http://ogham.celt.dias.ie/search.php?ciic=20 (last accessed 14 November 2013)
