The National Monuments Service's description
In a graveyard (KD032-041001-) which also contains a medieval font (KD032-041002-) and a fine medieval gargoyle (KD032-041003-) which is on the W gable of a 19th-century church here. Fitzgerald (1912-14c, 242) identifies Narraghmore as “'An Forrac Patraic', i.e. the great seat or meeting place of St. Patrick.” He suggests a church founded by St. Patrick stood on or close to the present modern Protestant church in the graveyard. A church here was described as being ‘in repair’ at the time of the Royal Visitation of Dublin, 1615 (Ronan 1941a, 52), but in 1630 it was described as ‘ruinous’ (Ronan 1941b, 96). No visible surface trace of this church survives. A low grassed-over foundation wall, running N-S to the N of the later church, noted in 1985 as the possible remains of the old church (SMR file) is no longer clearly identifiable at ground level.
