The National Monuments Service's description
On low-lying ground to the SW of Kildare town (KD022-029001-) and containing Grey Abbey, a Franciscan Friary (KD022-029006-). A possible holy well (KD022-030----) lies outside the graveyard’s W wall. A roughly rectangular area (L c. 95m E-W; Wth c. 75m) enclosed by a mortared stone wall, the SW limits of which are formed by the S wall and W gable wall of the Grey Abbey. The earliest legible burial markers appear to date to the 19th century.
