The National Monuments Service's description

On the W-edge of Rathmore village, a former Anglo-Norman borough (KD020-009001-), and overlooked by a fine motte (KD020-009004-) immediately to the N. An almost square area (est. dims. L c. 80m E-W; Wth c. 75m) enclosed by a stone wall contains a multi-period C of I church dedicated to St. Columcille in the W sector, which stood on site of or possibly incorporated the remains of a medieval church (KD020-009005-). The graveyard contains one freestanding granite cross (KD020-009007-) and four possible medieval crosses, (KD020-009008-, KD020-009010-, KD020-009013- and KD020-009014-), a medieval graveslab (KD020-009012-) and a 17th century cross (KD020-009011-).
