The National Monuments Service's description

In 1995, archaeological testing (Licence no. 95E0042: www.excavations.ie) in advance of a small, private development uncovered the skeletal remains of some seven individuals c. 30m E of the presumed location of a possible 17th century Dominican friary (KD019-030039-). The burials were interpreted as probably representing an associated graveyard. Further archaeological monitoring (Licence nos. 95E0283 and 96E0011: www.excavations.ie) of telecommunications trenching along the length of Abbey St., which borders the site along the E, recovered the redeposited, disarticulated skeletal remains of two adult females.
