The National Monuments Service's description
According to Bradley et al. (1986 vol. 4, 353), White Castle was situated on the site of the present Town Hall. It had a 19m frontage on North Main Street and was 9m deep. It also had a back premises and a walled rear garden. While some walls to the rear of the Town Hall may be pre-1700 in date, none can be clearly identified as belonging to the castle. (Murtagh 1983-4, 359)
