The National Monuments Service's description

Marked on the Down Survey (1655-6) and subsequently on Noble and Keenan's (1752), and Taylor's (1783) maps of County Kildare. The location shown on the latter map suggests the castle stood immediately N of 'Drinnanstown House' which stands at the NW foot of a very steep, tillage slope. The house is a small, heavily rendered, two-storied, three-bay structure of probable 19th century date. Buildings immediately to the N, shown on both eds. of the OS 6-inch maps, and the possible location of the castle, have been levelled and no visible surface trace of the castle was found. The precise location of this castle has not been identified.
