The National Monuments Service's description

Sherlock (1897-8, 157) mentions that a grant of land made by James I to Walter Dongan included an area in Sherlockstown which was known as 'Monecronock'- 'the bog of the crannog', and suggests that a crannog may have existed in this wet, low-lying area . The exact location of this monument is unknown.
