The National Monuments Service's description
On level pasture, (formerly in tillage - SMR file, 1972). The site was described in 1955 as a slightly raised rectangular area defined by a fosse, possibly a moated site (SMR file). A poorly preserved, rectangular area (int dims. L c. 40m E-W; Wth 33.5m N-S) is defined along the S by a low earthen bank (Wth 4.8m; int H 0.2m; ext H 1.35m), and a broad, outer fosse (Wth 6.4m; D 1.1m) which is partially filled with field-cleared material and which contains an ice-house (KD008-019001-) at the W end. Along the W, a low scarp (H 0.9m) defines the interior and is hedged to act as a field boundary. Along the N a low earthen bank (int. H 0.1m; ext. H 0.9m; Wth 6.5m) defines the site and is also hedged as a field boundary on its outer base. There is no visible trace of the enclosing element indicated along the E on the latest ed. (1911) of the OS 6-inch map. That map also depicts the interior as tree-planted, but it is now level pasture.
