The National Monuments Service's description
According to the OSL (Herity 2002, 37), ' … there stood an old castle, none of which remains'. On a low, narrow, N-S pasture ridge with a medieval church (KD004-005001-) c. 60m to the WSW. The area is now occupied by farm sheds, concrete yards and cattle pens and there is no visible surface trace of the monument, which was probably a tower house. A stone with a monkey carved on it was reported locally to have been found here in the 1980's and subsequently sold. It may have been part of a coat of arms of the Fitzgeralds (SMR file).
