The National Monuments Service's description
In cleared pastureland. No visible surface trace survived of a hachured feature marked on the 1948 revision of the OS 6-inch map when inspected in 1983. Cartographic evidence suggests it was a natural hollow or, more likely, a quarry pit, similar to many in the area.
