The National Monuments Service's description
Part of the monastic complex at Kilmacduagh: this early medieval nave and chancel church (E-W; L 13m; Wth 5.5m) is dedicated to St John the Baptist. According to Harbison (1970, 95), the chancel is a later addition. Apart from the outer portion of the chancel arch and the S wall (H c. 4m) most of the fabric has been heavily reconstructed/re-pointed. There are two windows in the S wall, one with a pointed arch and the other with a rounded arch. Part of the arch of another window is visible in the S wall of the chancel. The cathedral (GA128-034004-) is c. 50m to the SSW. (Fahy 1895, 85-6; O'Flanagan 1927a, 162, 182-3)
