The National Monuments Service's description
According to local information, this was formerly a mine and the source of iron ore that was used in the ironworks (GA125-152----) near Woodford town (pers. comm. K. Flaherty 1993). A small cave, the entrance of which is partially blocked, is visible. Not visited.
