The National Monuments Service's description
A cross-slab, recorded by Petrie (1878, vol. 2, 22), was said to have been broken and built into Teampall Bheanáin (GA119-009001-). Described by Higgins (1987, vol. 2, 287, no. 18), based on Petrie’s drawing, as a large limestone slab (H 0.75m; Wth 0.09m) with an outline Latin cross with slightly expanded wedge-shaped terminals. An inscription below the arms of the cross reads: ‘OR DO . . THIN’. The latter was read as 'CHIN' by Crawford (1913, 156). Despite a thorough search this cross-slab has not been found (Manning 1985, 98).
