Within a graveyard (GA117-065002-) and on the S-facing slope of Church Hill. The OS Letters state that the present church was built on the site of the 'original church of St. Molaise' (O'Flanagan 1927A, Vol. 2, 70). This ruinous church, of at least two phases of construction, is very poorly preserved. Standing remains comprise a nave (L 10.7m, Wth 7.6m) with an earlier chancel at the E end (L 9m, Wth 5.6m), as indicated by changes in the masonry. A blocked-up doorway in the S wall of the chancel is the only surviving architectural feature. There is a bullaun stone (GA117-065003-), embedded in concrete, in the NW corner of the nave and the remains of three medieval graveslabs (GA117-065005-, GA117-065006- and GA117-065007-) are also visible within the church. A medieval holy water font (GA117-065004-) lies in the S half of the graveyard.
