The National Monuments Service's description
Part of Baile na mBocht (GA110-162----); in an area of bare rock outcrop. Described by Kinahan (1869d, 26, no. 14) as a 'Ruined mound, with part of a circular chamber 21 feet [6.4m] in diameter. Extending towards the east from this chamber there is a passage ... covered by large flags'. No visible surface trace of this or the 'circle of stones, 21 feet [6.4m] in diameter ... contiguous to the chamber' could be found in the area indicated by Kinahan. (Westropp 1895, 261)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
