The National Monuments Service's description

Part of Baile na mBocht (GA110-162----); some 12m W of a clochan (GA110-127001-). Of this monument, Kinahan (1869d, 26, no. 2) noted that it was 'supposed to be an Ointigh', adding that 'there seem to be the remains of a kitchen midden in the neighbourhood'. What survives is a rectangular dry stone-faced cairn (L 7.2m, Wth 4.6m, H 3m) which appears to be the result of modern field clearance (Robinson 1980).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
