The National Monuments Service's description

Part of Baile na mBocht, Inis Mór (GA110-162----). Kinahan (1869d, 25-6, no. 6) describes this as 'A small stone fort, about 70 feet [21.3m] in diameter ... formerly surrounded by a stone wall, about 8 feet [2.4m] thick, in which was a flagged rectangular doorway, 3 feet [0.9m] high, by 3 feet 5 inches [1.1m] wide, facing to the SE'. All that survives today is a slightly raised D-shaped area (N-S c. 14m, E-W c. 13m). (Robinson 1980)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
