The National Monuments Service's description
In the vicinity of Teampall Mac Duagh (GA110-044001-). Writing in 1834, Petrie mentions 'the remains of several subterranean chambers excavated in the living rock, and covered with immense flags laid over them' (1972, 251). Though he located them in relation to the 'Cyclopean Wall' (GA110-044002-), these would appear to be the same as the 'nine or ten oblong cells in groups of three connected by passages' which were noted by Westropp (1895, 260) as having been discovered 'near this church' (i.e. GA110-044001-). No visible trace survives and the exact location is unknown.
