The National Monuments Service's description

Close to the townland boundary at the SSW end of a low ridge, near the W bank of the old course of the River Shannon and c. 300m to the NE of Meelick friary (GA108-124001-). This low roughly square platform of grassed-over earth and stone (c. 20m NW-SE;>15m NE-SW; H 0.4m) is cut through along the SW side by a modern field bank, immediately beyond which is a stream. The centre of the platform is occupied by a roughly square shallow hollow (L/Wth c. 8m; D 0.2m). According to local tradition (pers. comm. Fr. Egan), this is the site of Meelick Castle (but see GA109-021003-).
