The National Monuments Service's description

On a slight rise, c. 200m to the W of Eyrecourt House (GA108-086001-). The OS Letters refer to ‘an old church called Cillín íthe’ (O’Flanagan 1927, Vol. 2, 62), which was situated near the house, 'but not a vestige' of it remained and no local person 'remembered to have seen it.' However, a person living in the gatehouse pointed out its location to Fr. Egan. A mature ash tree to the N was pointed out as the spot where the ‘font’ of the church was reputedly buried; ‘stations have been held here within living memory (information from Fr Egan). On inspection a series of bumps and hollows, including a rectangular sunken area (20m E-W; 18m N-S) and a stony mound, was visible on the summit of the rise. Any of them could mark the site of the church.
