The National Monuments Service's description
Indicated and named 'Gravel Pit (Disused)' on the OS 25-inch plan. On inspection in 1984 it was no longer in use and the area immediately to the E was overgrown with trees. As it is of post-AD 1700 date it does not come within the remit of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland.
