The National Monuments Service's description

In pastureland, c. 150m to the NE of the shores of Galway Bay. Marked on the 1933 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) and classified by McCaffrey (1952, 200) as a ‘Stone fort (?)’ which was obscured by field rubble. According to local information, a possible souterrain (GA103-152001-) is associated. The monument was levelled during land reclamation in the 1950s and no visible surface trace survives.
