The National Monuments Service's description
On a hillock close to N shore of Dunbulcaun Bay, near the estuary of the Ballynamanagh River.
Described by Holt (1912, 235-6) as a ‘great rath, now much ravelled and in part obliterated …. The garth may have been about 195 ft. [c. 59.5m] in diameter …. A shallow ditch, between two feeble banks, remains on the W. side’. The rath is defined by two banks and an
intervening fosse from SW to WNW; otherwise no visible surface trace survives. (McCaffrey 1952, 182, no. 7a)
