The National Monuments Service's description
In grassland. Named 'Burial Ground' on the 1945-6 revision of the OS 6-inch map, on inspection this proved to be a rectangular mausoleum, aligned E-W, consisting of a vaulted roofed building constructed of stone and red brick. A plaque dedicated to a member of the Butson family, who died on 17 June 1889 aged 35 years, is visible to the S of the entrance on its E side. The building is surrounded to the S, N and W by a tree-covered earthen mound (diam. 9m; H 0.4m).
