The National Monuments Service's description
In gently undulating marshy pastureland. This rectangular moated site (53.5m NW-SE; 40m NE-SW), in fair condition, is defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank survives from SW through N to SE; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The fosse is wide and deep and the outer bank, in which stone-facing is visible, survives from E through S to NNW. A causewayed entrance gap at SSE may be original. The monument is densely overgrown with deciduous trees, briars and bushes. Field clearance is piled up against the outer bank from S through W to NNW and quarrying has encroached upon it at N. There are streams close by to the E and S.
