The National Monuments Service's description

On SE-facing slope of a ridge in undulating grassland. Subcircular rath (NNW-SSE, 41m), in fair condition, defined by a bank of earth and stone best preserved from N to NE. Possible external fosse survives from SW through W to NNW. From S through W to N, a mound of collapsed stone overlies the enclosing element. A gap (Wth 1.9m) at SSE could be original.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
