The National Monuments Service's description
Named ‘Turoe’ on the 1838 and 1933 editions of the OS 6-inch maps, no visible surface trace of the original Turoe House survives. A black and white photograph dated 1915 in the Lyons collection of photographs in the Department of Archaeology, NUIG shows that it was a three-storey, five-bay, T-shaped house with a neo-classical porch in the W wall and plain rectangular windows. It was demolished in the mid-1950s and replaced with the present house.
