The National Monuments Service's description
Included in the list of castles of Galway, compiled in 1574, is one at 'Caherformase' in the barony of Dunkellin, then in the possession of 'Redmund Reogh' (Nolan 1901, 113). This is probably a variation of the townland name 'Caherfurvaus'. Not located.
