The National Monuments Service's description
In 1933 a human skeleton was uncovered at Fairhill in Galway city. The site was inspected by the Gardaí, the Coroner and Dr Shea of University College, Galway. The burial is reported as being at a depth of c. 1m in sandy soil, facing E, with the forearms laid across the chest. The teeth were apparently in perfect condition. The site was not visited by NMI personnel and the remains do not appear to have been retained (pers. comm. M. Cahill and M. Sikora, NMI).
