The National Monuments Service's description

In S part of Loch an Chraoibhín. The discovery of a number of archaeological objects on a small overgrown island, including fragments of the top and bottom of a disc quern, a wooden peg, an iron object and a piece of animal bone, suggest that it was once inhabited (Topgr. Files, NMI). Not visited.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
