The National Monuments Service's description
On a hillock in grassland. Irregularly shaped rath (E-W 42.5m, N-S 24.7m), in fair condition, defined by a bank which survives from E through S to NNW, and elsewhere by a scarp. Quarrying has encroached upon the monument at NW. Either of two gaps at SE and SSW, though modern, could have given original access. There is a probable souterrain (GA080-189001-) in the interior. Another ringfort (GA086-195----) lies 180m to WNW. (ASGAP 171:28)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
