The National Monuments Service's description

On N face of a glacial ridge in undulating grassland; it stands at NE end of a modern rectilinear graveyard. Possibly a site of E. Chr. origin (O'Flanagan 1927, Vol. 1, 605-6, also 609). Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a rectangular church (c. 18m by c. 8m), aligned E-W. All that survives is a section of N wall (L 4m, H 3.4m) of a possible rectangular building, incorporated into the modern graveyard wall. The presence of a base-batter at its W end hints that this may preserve part of NW corner. Several cut-stone fragments, probably associated, are scattered around the graveyard. Two holy wells (GA086-150003-, GA086-149----) lie close by to NE and an enclosure (GA086-246----) lay 50m to SW.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
