The National Monuments Service's description
On level ground at the foot of a hillock occupied by a castle (GA084-040001-). This poorly preserved subcircular cashel (26m N-S; 21m E-W) is defined by a low grassed-over stony bank. The interior is raised c. 1m above the surrounding ground level. Two low stony banks radiate from the enclosing element at WNW and ESE; they are possibly part of the surrounding field system (GA084-040003-). (Cody 1989, 351, no. 157)
