The National Monuments Service's description
In the chancel of the Dominican church (GA084-001014-), close to the S pier of the tower. This rectangular slab (L 1.73m; Wth at top 0.59m; base Wth 0.54m) with the lower corners cut off obliquely is broken in two pieces. Described by Macalister (1913, 210, I, Pl. VII, No. 2) as being decorated with a ‘handsome circular foliation in lieu of a cross-head and a plaited stem, terminating horizontally below.’ An inscription running around the margin reads: 'HIC IACET DNA MARIOTA DE BVRGO FILIA WALTERI ALS DORHAN M BARO PRO CUIUS AIE (?) ET RIE (?) ET(?)ERNO URNAS (?) SPECTARE PRECES FUNDITE 1615' (ibid.) (Bradley and Dunne 1992, 35)
