The National Monuments Service's description
In undulating grassland. Marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1933) as a curving field boundary which appears to define S half of a subcircular area. It is cut by a NE-SW running byroad. No visible surface trace survives to E of the road. However, to W of it, the arc of a bank (Wth 1.2m, H 0.6m max.) is visible curving from SW to W. This is overgrown with whitethorn bushes, and there are slight traces of a fosse outside it. Possibly a landscape feature.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
